It’s that time of year again for little ghosts and goblins to come to your doorstep knocking for tricks and treats adorably adorned in Halloween attire. For the many avid decorators of all things Halloween, we look for new and creative ways to festively decorate our homes inside and out.
I know I get utterly bored with the same ole decorations each year, so as is normal for me (giggle) I set out to see what new and exciting DIY Halloween Decorations I could find and I will be sharing some of my favorites here with you today. Below you will find 15 different DIY Halloween Decorations for you to browse through. Each one will have a link below it that will take you to the tutorial for recreating it. So let’s get started!
1. Enchanting Halloween Lanterns
What you will need:
- jars of different sizes and shapes
- a can of purple spray paint
- paint marker

2. Creepy Tombstone Yard Decorations
What you will need:
- sheets of approx 5cm x 30cm x 91cm dry Styrofoam – 1 sheet will make 2 tombstones
- a serrated bread knife
- a paring knife
- a permanent marker
- black spray paint
- dark gray and white acrylic paint
- a 6 or 7cm paint brush

3. Wispy Ghosts
What you will need:
- Cheese Cloth 1 package for every 5 ghosts
- Plaster of Paris- We made 20 ghosts and used about 10 lbs dry.
- Assorted Paper tubes – Paper towel, wrapping paper or make your own from old manilla file folders
- Round objects for head molds – ping pong balls, X-Mas balls, craft balls, burned out light bulbs, etc.
- masking tape
- saran wrap
- Play dough or other clay for support during construction
- Black Paper – good quality so it won’t fade
- Glue gun and glue
- LED flickering tea lights
