Forget Solo Cups At Your Next Party! Your Guests Will Be Impressed When They See These!

What a great idea for your next party or family get-together! Aside from using plastic cups that you write your guests name on, why not go for a sophisticated look with DIY Chalkboard Wine Glasses? I originally found this idea on buzzfeed and was able to implement my own strategy for making these because the dipped paint method in the original article was MESSY and I found that using spray paint worked WAY better, dried faster and was just as effective without all the mess.

This is a brilliant idea and a super easy craft project that you can pull off very quickly with nothing more than some chalkboard paint and wine glasses! These are so elegant and now you can label your guests names on each of their glasses in pure DIY style!! Impress your guests at your next party with DIY Chalkboard Wine Glasses instead of solo cups and markers!

Your guests will be amazed with your creativity and charm when they see these!

What you will need:

  • Wine Glasses
  • Chalkboard Spray Paint
  • Painter’s Tape
  • Chalk

Instructions:

  1. Use your painters tape to tape off the stem of your wine glass leaving 3/4 of it showing at the bottom and taping about half way up the stem, then wrap the rest of the wine glass in newspaper and tuck it inside the glass to protect it from paint over-spray.
  2. Once your glass is taped and covered, use your chalkboard spray paint to paint the uncovered part of the stem, the base and bottom of the glass base.
  3. Set the glass upside down (base up) and allow it to dry then spray a 2nd coat. Allow it to dry completely according to the spray paint directions for the brand you chose.

That’s all there is to it! These are not dishwasher safe, they must be hand washed by washing the glass itself with soap and water and only damp wiping the chalkboard part to remove the names.

You’re sure to be the hit of your party with these elegant DIY Chalkboard Wine Glasses!

You can also use this same method with gold spray paint without the chalkboard effect for more formal occasions like shown in the photo below
