Super Cute DIY Rudolph Decoration With Template!

Welcome to PAGE TWO of the DIY Rudolph Decoration tutorial.

The main material used to make these is socks. This project does require some sewing, either by hand or with a sewing machine.

They also offer free downloadable templates to make this project even easier. (link provided below)

What you will need to make your own DIY Rudolph:

 1. Sock (crew length), Christmas theme, microfiber / fuzzy / chenille socks, adult size, solid color, single
2. Sock (crew length), plain, cotton or wool, adult size, solid color, single
3. Button eye 8mm dome-shaped, black, 2; or equivalent button
4. Embroidery floss, yellow
5. Felt: Brown (6″ x 3″, 2 pcs.) , Red (2″ x 2″) and White (3″ x 2″)
6. Poly-fill stuffing material
7. Sewing threads (matching colors)
8. Jingle bell and yarn or string
9. Reindeer: Antlers, Nose & Eyes template (found at link tutorial link below)
10. Card / paper (for template printing)

Joanne at Craft Passion offered these tips to keep in mind:

  • Since the sock is stretched after stuffed, thick sock with close-knit yields better quality than thin sock.
  • Due to it’s weaving process, chenille socks will tend to have holes. If this happened to your, just stitch up to mend the hole, the fussy fiber will cover up the stitches.
  • Always massage the stuffed parts to loosen up the lumps. Roll the long cylindrical parts with both hands to smooth out the lumps, it will also help to make the parts longer and firmer too.

My Thanks go to Joanne at Craft Passion for this wonderful craft project and featured images.
