Welcome to PAGE TWO of the DIY Sock Snowmen Tutorial. Are these not the cutest snowmen you have ever seen? The tutorial below will show you how to make them.
These make awesome holiday decorations and beautiful gifts for friends and family for Christmas. I hope this craft project inspires you to make your own adorable sock snowmen to decorate your home with this year.
Instructions:
- Cut off the top part of the sock
- Sew a stitch around the top of the sock, but do not tie it off. Leave 6-8 inches extra of thread on both the start and finish of your sock.
- Take a piece of string or floss and tie it around the (other end) cut off part of the sock.
- Fill your sock with fiberfill ( stuffing) but do not fill it all the way. On top of the stuffing, put in the rice. Then using your pre threaded string tie in a tight knot. This will be the bottom part of the snowman. The rice helps balance the snowmen.
- For the hats, use a colored sock and cut the heel and use matching string to tie off the cut end. Tie in a tight knot
- Pull the hat down tight over the top of the snowman then roll the end up and put a few drops of glue under the hat to secure it in place
- For the scarves, use a different color sock and cut a strip that you will tie around the neck and glue in place. Snip strips in the ends to look like a real scarf.
- Now to decorate them. Glue a button to the scarf and 3 on the belly. Use the orange clay to make the nose and glue those on along with gluing the black bead eyes. Use the pink chalk or blush to rosey the cheeks and you’re done!
