Get Your Mason Jars Out To Get Your Christmas Frosty Fix!

snowman mason jar luminary

I can never resist snowmen, I just love them! In this tutorial you will learn how to make a Frosty The Snowman Mason Jar Luminary. This is an easy and fun craft project from ‘Club Chica Circle’ that your kids can help with. Im my case it will be my grandkids helping 🙂

All of the supplies can be found in your local craft stores like Michael’s, Hobby Lobby or even the craft section of Walmart.  I love the snowy effect of this project, especially since it never snows where I live here in Florida, so having a snow covered christmas decoration is awesome!! This is as close as I will get to a white christmas.

What you will need

  • Mason Jar
  • Frosty snow
  • Decoupage or Mod Podge
  • Orange air dry clay
  • Hot glue gun and sticks
  • Sponge applicator brush
  • Black Buttons
  • Red & White Pipe Cleaners
  • 2 Red Pom poms
  • Battery tea lights or LED string lights

Instructions:

  1. Starting with the face, mold the orange clay into a carrot shape nose and glue it on the jar.
  2. Glue on 2 button eyes.snowman mason jar luminary
  3. Using a sponge brush, apply a THICK coat of glue on the outside of the jar. Then, sprinkle on a thick layer of Frosty Snow. I also used my hand in places to pat down the Snow as I coated the whole jar.snowman mason jar luminary
  4. Let it dry and move on to making earmuffs. Cut a red and white pipe cleaner in half and twist them together to make a candy cane that you mold into a “U” shape that fits the width of the lid.
  5. Using your glue gun, apply each end of the twisted pipe cleaner and the two large red pom poms on the outer edge of a mason jar lid.snowman mason jar luminary
  6. Once dry, add your choice of LED or battery tea lights inside the jar. If using string lights you will need to drill an opening in the lid for the cord.
  7. Turn on the lights and put the earmuff lid on and ENJOY!
