[Video] Creative DIY Pasta Christmas Ornaments

Here’s a new twist on Christmas Ornaments, I’ve never seen this done so I am excited to share it with you. This video tutorial shows you how to make some very creative DIY Pasta Christmas Ornaments out of dry pasta that are in a swirl shape. I’ve seen these at the store so they are easy to get. I love how they turned out.

You can use craft paint to make these but spray paint will work just as well for the outer coloring. A brush and craft paint are needed for the etched design you will see in the video tutorial.

You will need the following materials:

  • styrofoam in ball and heart shape
  • spiral pasta
  • hot glue gun
  • craft paint in your choice of colors
  • (optional) spray paint
  • paint brush (for detailing)
  • thread or fishing line to hang them
  • skewers (to hold foam while you work)

    • Hi.. the pasta in the video is Sorprese pasta.. it is hard to find in the US, but Barilla is the pasta brand I found it in online 🙂 Rotelli would work too if you break it into smaller pieces.

  1. I love your pasta decoration, I can’t get the pasta here in New Zealand but got my b-in-law to get it from England for me. Unfortunately it is a miniature version pasta but I will still try to make the deco and see if I can post it online for you. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thank you Christine. The pasta in the video is Sorprese pasta.. it is hard to find, at least here in the US, but Barilla is the pasta brand I used 🙂 Rotelli would work too if you break it into smaller pieces. I look forward to seeing your finished product 🙂
