Welcome to PAGE TWO of the DIY Personalized Glitter Ornaments Tutorials. Now that you’ve got your glitter ornaments complete, it’s time to learn how to personalize them. There are several ways you can do this. In this tutorial the originator of this technique from ‘Happiness Is Homemade’ uses vinyl cut outs. But you can also purchase adhesive letters from your local craft store to stick to the ornaments which is a lot easier.
On the next page there is a video you can watch to see the adhesive letters being used if you prefer to make your personalized glitter ornaments that way. You can personalize your ornaments with a full name, or an initial or even word sentiments like joy, love, peace etc.
What You will need:
- Glitter ornaments
- Glitter Vinyl (or glitter letter stickers)
- X-acto knife or Silhouette cameo cutter if you have one
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut initials from solid colored vinyl, but you could easily cut it out with a sharp Xacto knife as well. Just print out the initial on to printer paper, trim it to size and tape it on top of your piece of vinyl. Carefully use the Xacto knife to cut through both layers (paper and vinyl) to cut out your letters. Apply the initial to the ornament using a small scrap of transfer paper.
