[Video] Homemade DIY Air Conditioner! How COOL Is That!

Summer temperatures seem to be climbing higher and higher every year, and in many parts of the US and abroad, temperatures can reach sweltering numbers well over 100 degrees fahrenheit.

If you’ve ever had your AC go out during the hot summer months, you know all too well how uncomfortable and downright miserable it can become very quickly, as the temperature in the house climbs minute by minute.

Today you are going to learn how to make a super simple, sweat saving DIY Air Conditioner with little more than a 5 gallon bucket. This homemade AC can even be solar powered by the sun without electricity at all, which would be a lifesaver during power outages. With this DIY Air Conditioner you can get up to 5 hours of ice cold air at a time before needing to add more ice.

How COOL is that?

What You Will Need:

  • 5 Gallon Bucket
  • Styrofoam Liner
  • 1.5″ PVC Pipes
  • 2 Hole Saws that go on a drill (2-1/4″ & 2-1/8″)
  • A Small Fan
  • Ice (1 gallon jug of frozen water)
  • Small Solar Panel (optional)
