Elegant DIY Glitter Votive Candle Holders – Great Gift Idea

Welcome to PAGE TWO of the Elegant DIY Glitter Votive Tutorial.

You can make these glitter votives in any color glitter and ribbon you choose. There is no wrong way to make these. Once you know what color you want them, you could make several of them as gifts and of course a few for you 🙂

These look great in groups of 3 adorning a table, mantel or shelf and can also be used as a centerpiece for an elegant setting for a holiday dinner table or party.

Instructions:

  • Be sure your votive is clean and dry and free of any oils from your hands. Once you have a clean glass to work with, use the tape to section off where you want the glitter to stop.
  • Apply mod podge or craft glue to the area you want covered with glitter.
  • Next, pour your glitter over a pan or bowl onto the glue on the glass making sure to cover it thoroughly and allow it to dry.
  • You can either stop there with the glitter or apply a 2nd coat of glue and glitter to give a nice raised appearance. If you do, allow to dry after.
  • Cut a piece of ribbon a bit longer than the rounded width of your glass, as you will want it to slightly overlap in the front like you see in the photos.
  • Use your hot glue to glue the ribbon to both the glass (covering the line where the glitter begins and glue again in the center to create the bow effect.
  • Lastly, glue on your jewel, bead or other centerpiece embellishment and your done!
