There are so many things you can do with gel candles that can’t be done with traditional wax candles. The adding of items for scented and visual effects like the photos shown on page one are a good example of the flexibility of making Gel Candles. Their transparency over hard wax makes gel candles a versatile and popular candle option. I absolutely love them and prefer gel to hard wax.
Let’s get down to making them shall we?
Instructions:
1. Begin by melting your gel was in a candle pot using a double boiler method. This requires a pot of water that your candle pot will sit inside as the pot of water boils. Boil on medium heat until the gel is smooth like syrup to ensure that the gel is fully melted.
2. Add the dye color you want (if any) then add the essential oils or whatever fragrant items you’ve chosen for the desired scent.
3. Add a small amount of wax to the wick base and place it at the bottom center of your glass container. (you can also use hot glue for this step) Now use your skewer stick and wrap the excess wick around it then lay the stick across the container to hold the wick upright.
