Using the ingenious power of thermodynamics, you CAN charge your phone in a power outage with a DIY Candle Charger! This can also be a lifesaver when your away from home while camping or hiking.

NOTE: You will want to have the items below on hand and your DIY phone charger made prior to an emergency power outage.

What you will need:

  1. one peltier device scavenged from a USB drink chiller you can buy at Amazon
  2. 1 can of sterno cooking fuel or stower candle
  3. 1 single AA phone charger you can buy at Amazon

To make the stand you will need:

  1. threaded rods
  2. electrical box base
  3. nuts that fit the threaded rods
