I Hope You’ve Been Saving Your Toilet Paper Rolls! You’re Gonna Need Them!

I hope you’ve been saving your toilet paper rolls, here is another awesome craft project I found at ‘Thrifty Crafty Girl’ for making DIY Faux Halloween Candles using electric tea lights and toilet paper rolls. These will look great on your front porch as your little trick or treaters come knocking and you don’t have to worry about anyone getting burned, even if they get knocked over by excited little ghosts and goblins.

What you will need:

• toilet paper rolls
• electric or battery operated tea lights
• glue gun and sticks
• black spray paint (acrylic paint works even better than spray paint)
• scrap felt

Instructions:

1. Split the toilet paper rolls up the sides:
2. Measure them around your tea lights, hot glue the sides back together.
3. Use your hot glue gun to make some fake wax drippings.
4. With your tealights out of the tube, spray paint them black.
5. For the top of the tealights, use some scrap felt and cut out circles. A little notch in the top to slip the fake flame through

* TUTORIAL UPDATE: One of my website fans has made the following suggestions after making these:

“After making this, I have found that: – make sure you get a PUSH on, not a switch on (tea lights). Because if you make them longer than finger length you can use something long enough to push them on and off. Also: – I found that using acrylic paint worked better than the spray paint on the hot glue “dripping wax” part. Just my experience”
